Final reminder: Ohio Business Gateway deadline is Dec. 2

Written on Nov 22, 2024

Ohio Business Gateway (OBG) users only have one more week to act before Dec. 2 – that’s when multi-factor authentication becomes an OH/ID login requirement for the OBG. Those practitioners who do not request user access and add their clients before Dec. 2 could lose access to filing and pay in the OBG for their clients.

Representatives of both the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) and the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) recently held an OBG webinar for OSCPA members on Oct. 30.  The DAS has provided answers to FAQs asked during the webinar – available here.

The DAS has also produced a demo video that can be accessed here. Resources are also available here to begin implementing these requirements.

The DAS recently shared with OSCPA that only 37% of current OH/ID users have completed the required actions.  Dec. 2 is only one week away so please act now.

The Oct. 30 webinar also covered the ODT’s upcoming phase two launch of OH|TAX eServices on Dec. 9.  Phase one occurred during Sept. 2023 and was limited to personal (PIT) and school district (SDIT) income taxes.  The ODT has also provided answers to FAQs asked during the webinar – available here.

The phase two update will allow taxpayers to file more types of returns, including sales/use, public utility, personal property, employer and school district withholding, adult use cannabis, public utility excise, and natural gas excise taxes.

Users can log into both the OBG and OH|TAX with the same OH/ID credentials.
