There is still time to register for the March primary election

Ohioans still have time to register to vote in the March primary election. Feb. 20 is the voting registration deadline, with the primary election happening less than a month later on March 19. Voters can expect to see the presidential primary, along with a U.S. Senate primary race featuring three candidates as well as local candidates and ballot issues across the state. 

 

Voting schedule: 

February 20: Deadline to register to vote. Boards open until 9:00 p.m. 

February 21: Absentee voting by mail begins (Ends March 18, postmark deadline) 

February 21: Early in-person voting begins 

March 12: Absentee ballot applications must be received by your board of elections by 8:30 p.m. 

March 18: Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date. 

March 19: Primary Election: Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. 

March 19: Absentee Ballots may be returned by mail or personally delivered to your county board of elections. If not returned by mail, absentee ballots must be received by your board of elections by 7:30 p.m. 

March 23: Last day for boards of elections to receive absentee ballots that have been postmarked on or before March 18.
