Free webinar on developing a WISP on Nov. 30

The IRS is offering a free webinar on developing a Written Information Security Plan (WISP) next week.  

Federal law requires tax professionals to have current WISPs to protect businesses and clients in the event of a security incident. A security plan should be appropriate to the company’s size, scope of activities, complexity and the sensitivity of the customer data it handles. 

The webinar on Thursday, Nov. 30 will explain the FTC Safeguards Rule, identify basic steps to data security, outline how to create a WISP and much more.
