Auditor of State’s office offers cybersecurity tips

The Ohio Auditor of State’s office is working to ensure clean, accountable and efficient government for the people of Ohio. With a statewide team of more than 800 auditors and professionals, the office is responsible for auditing over 5,900 public entities, including local governments, schools, state agencies and public institutions.

Cybersecurity crimes are a challenge for all businesses and governmental entities. To combat this, the Auditor of State recommends verifying payment changes in person or through independently validated contacts, using strong passwords, regular data backups and keeping software and anti-virus programs updated.
