Amy Arrighi
Amy Arrighi has served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Regional Income Tax Agency
(R.I.T.A.) since December 2005. Ms. Arrighi also worked for R.I.T.A. through the early
1990s as a legal assistant/law clerk to the Agency’s then Counsel. Prior to rejoining the
Agency in 2005 Ms. Arrighi practiced law for seven years primarily representing local
and national financial institutions in the areas of regulation compliance, creditors’ rights,
bankruptcy and loan workout as well as representing municipalities and other creditors in
various collection matters.
R.I.T.A. acts as the municipal income tax administrator for over 185 municipalities in the
State of Ohio. As Chief Legal Counsel, Ms. Arrighi’s responsibilities include assisting
R.I.T.A. and its members in the administration and enforcement of members’ income tax
ordinances, including civil collection proceedings, ordinance review, and assisting in
Board of Review matters. Ms. Arrighi’s duties also include advising R.I.T.A.
management and its governing Board of Trustees on various administrative issues
including personnel matters, Ohio Sunshine Laws, security matters and contract bidding
and review.
Ms. Arrighi received her J.D. from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1998 and her
B.S. in Paralegal Studies from Dyke College (nka Myers University) in 1992
