Justin Breidenbach
Justin Breidenbach received his Masters of Accountancy from Bowling Green State University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. Justin operates an accounting practice that provides general accounting, financial reporting, tax, advisory, and CFO services. Justin provides services to individuals and businesses in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, service, not-for-profit, and medical & adult-use cannabis. Justin began research, and providing consulting services, in the medical and adult-use cannabis industry in 2013. He works with cultivators, processors, and dispensaries on accounting and regulatory issues throughout the United States and international markets. Services provided to the medical and adult-use cannabis industry include: tax compliance, 280e analysis and cost allocation, research and development (R&D) tax credits and incentives, entity structures and relationships, internal controls, banking and financial services, state licensing requirements, financial reporting and budgeting, assistance with capital raises, and more. Justin formerly served as an Associate Professor of Accounting at Ohio Wesleyan University. He instructed courses on financial accounting, taxation, and audit & assurance services. Prior to joining the faculty at OWU, Justin served as a faculty member at Lake Erie College where he instructed courses on financial accounting, taxation, audit & assurance services, and fraud & forensic accounting. Justin serves as an Associate Professor of Accounting at Ohio Wesleyan University (Delaware, Ohio). He instructs courses on financial accounting, taxation, and audit & assurance services. Justin also oversees the Accounting Fellows program at OWU in which students participate in travel-learning experiences to meet with business leaders, accounting professionals, and politicians domestically and abroad. Prior to joining the faculty at OWU, Justin served as a faculty member at Lake Erie College (Painesville, Ohio) where he instructed courses on financial accounting, taxation, auditing, and fraud & forensic accounting. Before joining the world of academia, Justin worked in public accounting proving audit, tax, and consulting services. He still enjoys consulting on accounting-related topics through his business Breidenbach Consulting Services LLC. Justin provides services to individuals and businesses in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, service, not-for-profit, and medical & adult-use cannabis. He has toured - and continues to tour - production (cultivator), processing, and retail/dispensary operations in various states and internationally that have legalized marijuana for medical and/or adult recreational use. Prior to joining the faculty at OWU, Justin served as a full-time faculty member at Lake Erie College where he instructed courses relating to financial accounting, fraud & forensic accounting, auditing, and tax. Additionally, Justin assisted in the creation of a fraud and forensic accounting concentration at Lake Erie College and served as a faculty advisor to the student run Accounting Club and student accounting competition teams. Prior to joining the world of academia, Justin had extensive professional work experience in public accounting, and he still enjoys consulting individuals and businesses on accounting related topics."
