OSCPA Senior Vice President Dr. Tiffany Crosby, PhD, CPA, CGMA, MBA, is set to address the professional ethics sessions at the 49th annual Meonske Professional Development Conference scheduled for May 15 and 16 on the Kent State University campus.
In her ethics breakout sessions, Crosby will be touching on her research on the concept of moral disengagement, and its importance for business leaders. As Crosby explained in an article that appeared in the March/April 2025 issue of CPA Voice, moral disengagement helps explain the mechanics behind ethical drift, a psychological concept she taught for many years.
“Moral disengagement explains how people could engage in conflicting behaviors while espousing strong moral convictions,” Crosby said. “I teach this concept to raise awareness of it, hoping that we will become far more intentional with our words and challenge the pictures we’re creating within our organizations and with our stakeholders.”
The conference, named in honor of its founder, Professor Emeritus Norman Meonske, has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-caliber content. Designed for accounting and finance professionals, the event offers a total of 16 hours of CPE credit. Attendees have the option to register for one or both days of the conference.
In addition to Crosby’s ethics breakout sessions, additional options include: technology, internal audit, FP&A and tax, with more than 45 sessions in all to choose from.
