Gov. Mike DeWine recently appointed former Cincinnati area longtime state legislator William (Bill) J. Seitz III (R-Green Twp.) to the Board of Tax Appeals for a term beginning March 7, 2025, and ending Feb. 8, 2031.
Seitz finished his final term in the Ohio House of Representatives last year after nearly 24 years in the Ohio General Assembly. He started his political career in 2000 when he was elected to the Ohio House. Seitz was later appointed to the Ohio Senate in 2007 and won his second term.
He returned to the Ohio House in 2016 after being term limited in the Ohio Senate. Seitz was a member of leadership from 2017 until his retirement, serving as the Majority Floor Leader under five different speakers and two interim speakers.
Prior to his political career, Seitz received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Cincinnati and obtained his JD as a lawyer. Soon after Seitz joined the Taft Stettinius & Hollister law firm and in less than a decade became partner.
