This week's CPA of Ohio is Jareed Robinson, CPA, assurance manager at BDO USA.

What do you like to do in your free time?

“Well, I just got engaged so the last few months there’s been a lot of wedding planning in my free time. Outside of that, we live by a trail that goes from the Cleveland area all the way to Canton so we ride our bikes on there, pretty much anything outside. I do a lot of reading and try to stay as active as possible.”

Do you have any favorite places to travel to?

“I love Orlando and I love Phoenix. I have a goal to visit each of the 50 states but Covid has derailed that a little bit but of the places I’ve been those are two of my favorites so far.”

Is there any life advice someone has given you that really resonated?

“Don’t take on more than you can handle and be realistic with what you can actually do. In whatever job you have there are a lot of pressures from the people above and below you. But the best advice I got from my advisor was ‘don’t overpromise to under deliver.’ Make sure you’re being realistic and don’t set yourself up for failure.”
