This week’s CPA of Ohio is Monique Rogers, CPA, senior finance analyst at L Brands.
Is there any life advice someone has given you that really resonated?
“Back in high school when I played volleyball, my coach told me ‘always be ready to get in the game.’ At that time, I was sitting bench on varsity and she noticed that I wasn’t ready to get in the game. She gave me some sound advice and I take that everywhere I go as I should always be ready to take an opportunity when it arises.”
What are your favorite places to travel to?
“I love traveling, I’ve been to six of the seven continents. I’m still trying to get to Antarctica, everywhere I’ve been has had amazing scenery and culture. I can’t really say one place has been my favorite but the last major place that I went to was Bali Indonesia and it was such a beautiful place.”
What has been the highlight of your career?
“Getting my CPA license, that was one of the hardest things to do and I’m very proud of myself for getting it done within nine months. It took a lot of determination and dedication. I think that was the biggest highlight of my career, I’m proud to say I have my CPA.”
