Reminder from the Ohio Department of Taxation Sales and Use Tax returns due July 23

Written on Jul 11, 2025

The Ohio Department of Taxation is reminding taxpayers and professionals that sales tax returns are due July 23 for both monthly filers and semi-annual filers.

Additionally, consumer’s use tax and direct pay permit holders tax returns are due on July 23 for both monthly filers and quarterly filers.

Important info for COTA district filers

Sales tax rates increased on April 1, 2025, in COTA districts in five counties (Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Union). For semi-annual taxpayers who file in one of these counties, there will be an extra step to account for the first three months and the second three months of sales.
