OSCPA welcomes Laura A. Hay, CPA, CAE as the new CEO & President

After more than three decades of creating meaningful change in accounting, incoming OSCPA CEO & President Laura Hay, CPA, CAE, is ready to lead Ohio CPAs to meet the challenges of the transforming profession.   

"I am honored to lead this remarkable organization and deeply inspired by the trust and commitment of our statewide membership," Hay said. "With the dedication of our dynamic staff and the vision of our board, I am confident that we can achieve extraordinary things together.” 

As former OSCPA Executive Vice President, Hay understands the pain points and opportunities the profession faces and how to best service Ohio CPAs. She has a proven track record of transforming complexity into clarity and translating strategies into measurable results.    

Hay is the first woman and CPA to lead the organization. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in collaboration and an unwavering focus on OSCPA’s mission to protect and advance the CPA profession in Ohio and beyond. Her strategic priorities include: 

  • Developing CPA talent through innovative initiatives to strengthen the CPA pipeline and provide robust support for experienced professionals,  

  • Advocating for common-sense regulation for the CPA profession by engaging policymakers and delivering exceptional guidance and resources to OSCPA members and  

  • Ensuring excellence in OSCPA initiatives to contribute to a strong, vibrant, thriving profession.

Hay has been instrumental in driving thought leadership activities, overseeing technical services such as peer review, professional ethics and accounting and auditing standards, and representing the profession with key standard-setters and regulators.    

She has served on the AICPA Peer Review Board and is staff liaison to the OSCPA Accounting& Auditing, Professional Ethics, Peer Review and Public Companies Committees.  

Before joining OSCPA in 1992, Hay was a senior auditor with Price Waterhouse in Columbus and taught introductory accounting at Indiana University while pursuing graduate studies. She earned her B.S. with honors from Miami University.
