The Ohio CPA Foundation is the recipient of a $25,000 investment from KPMG U.S. Foundation Inc., recognizing the impact the foundation is making in the state of Ohio.
“We are thrilled to grow our efforts to build a more robust and inclusive future for the opportunity profession with and alongside KPMG,” said Scott Wiley, CAE, President & CEO The Ohio Society of CPAs. “This gift is one we know is really an investment which we are both grateful for and mindful that comes with a commitment to keep accelerating opportunities.”
KPMG recently celebrated its 125-year anniversary and in addition to a day of volunteering out in the community, KPMG Foundation encouraged offices to consider where they would like to make financial contributions. Kim Zavislak, CPA, KPMG office managing partner, said the Columbus office chose the Foundation.
“This is an investment in the future of others coming after us who want to be in the profession,” she said. “OSCPA stands out among other states in the areas of advocacy and DEI initiatives. We are looking to increase the diversity within the profession and that's why we wanted to make the donation.”
The KPMG U.S. Foundation invests in organizations advancing equitable access and educational opportunities to create stronger communities.
“I view the profession as having very high integrity,” Zavislak said. “Which absolutely aligns with everything found at the Ohio CPA Foundation and the Ohio Society of CPAs. The Society has been focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, and making sure we're understanding any barriers to the profession, while working to fix the root cause issues.”
