This week's CPA of Ohio is Lauren Hagan, CPA, CFO of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
What has been the highlight of your career?
“Working for the library has been a highlight so far. I really connect to the mission of the library in serving our customers and the community. I think that’s what makes work in our field of being CPAs fulfilling is if there’s a connection to the work of the organization. For me it’s really important to be able to connect directly to the work.”
Is there any life advice that resonated with you?
“One thing I’ve learned along the way is just be open to opportunities. Particularly at Loyola I had a lot of different roles, people would ask me to try new things that I didn’t have much experience in. So, they gave me those direct opportunities and I said yes to them. That's the advice I have followed is to be open to new responsibilities and willing to say yes and put yourself out there.”
