CPA of Ohio Tyler Suter

This week's CPA of Ohio is Tyler Suter, CPA, owner of Suter Financial.

When did you first know you wanted to be a CPA?

“I was working at the Auditor of State out of college and they approached me with the opportunity to become the first CPA in the department that I worked in. There are plenty of CPAs that work at the Auditor of State, but I worked in a special division called UAN. It’s a very important division that helps support local governments around the state of Ohio. I viewed it as a challenge to get my CPA, and I was thankful for the opportunity.” 

What are some of your favorite places to travel?

“We take a family vacation every other year to Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina. It’s more about seeing the people I go with because they’re friends of mine from high school. It’s three or four families of friends I’ve known for 20 years.”

Is there any life advice that’s really resonated with you?

“Living in the shadow of my dad, he guides me throughout life. I’m basically turning into him and doing things I saw him doing when I was growing up. He was always trying to make our lives better by doing little things like making breakfast, keeping routine, and doing projects around the house on your own. I’ve had a lot of help along the way, but he’s been the main one to give me advice throughout my life.”
