CPAs aren’t just needed for the success of business; their input also is important in government. As Michael Bowman, CPA, writes in the January/February 2019 issue of CPA Voice, that’s why OSCPA created a Federal Tax Committee in 2015. Additionally the group provides analysis and recommendations to the OSCPA Executive Board, members of Congress and IRS officials on proposed legislation, pending administrative pronouncements and other federal tax matters impacting professional practice and tax practitioners.
The committee meets quarterly in person at the OSCPA office and on an ad hoc basis. It’s comprised of four different subcommittees focused on publications, congressional activity, the IRS and succession within the committee.
