Earn up to 16 CPE credits while learning the essentials of government contract accounting and cybersecurity compliance at the Ohio Small Business GovCon Training Summit Oct. 10 and 11.

The summit provides accountants with government contractor clients the essential tools they need to successfully navigate government contract accounting and cybersecurity compliance.

The Ohio Small Business GovCon Training Summit takes place in Columbus at the Columbus Citywide Training Center. Each day consists of two sessions offering attendees a total of four sessions. Both days include practical, actionable tools small businesses can implement immediately.

Day 1 will focus on government contract accounting systems and DCAA compliance. Topics include FAR 31 compliance, cost accounting standards (CAS), SF 1408 Preaward Accounting System Surveys, indirect rates, and incurred cost proposals. The day will end with information on government contract accounting software including guidance on budgets, schedules and implementation methodologies.

Day 2 will focus on DFARS cybersecurity. Topics include FAR and DFARS clauses for the protection of information systems and data, NIST 800-171, controlled unclassified information (CUI), system security plans (SSPs), and plans of actions and milestones (POA&Ms). The day will end with information on affordable solutions for small businesses and personal cyber hygiene tools.

The agenda includes networking opportunities to meet vendors and other attendees.
