July’s most read stories: Gateway, Gateway, Gateway

The Ohio Business Gateway (OBG) transitioned to a modernized system on July 2, and, if it feels like that’s all we’ve talked about since, it’s because we have covered it. A lot.
The transition wasn’t seamless, as no transition of its magnitude ever is. Other OSCPA advocacy efforts – Fix to Form IT/SD 2210 a win for CPAs and OSCPA files second amicus brief to support muni tax reforms – also made the top 10 for July.
If you’ve heard enough about the OBG and are ready for some feel-good news, we also covered a few of the awesome things our young CPAs have done in July. In our seventh most popular story this month – From Afghanistan to audits, Cincinnati Young Pro loves a challenge – you can read about Keenan Cooper, CPA, and his perseverance through a deployment to Afghanistan in 2008 and his current role at Grant Thornton, LLP in Cincinnati.
And, although these stories did not make the top 10, we believe these young pros also deserve an honorable mention:
- We celebrated Andrew Somich, CPA, who was recently accepted into the prestigious AICPA Leadership Academy. This isn’t the first time an OSCPA member has attended the academy. Last year, Jessie Wright, CPA, CVA, CGMA, was selected, and now she’s an OSCPA Executive Board member.
- We also recognized all the hard work Pingping Sheng has put in to becoming an accountant after she attended OSCPA’s Accounting Careers Leadership Academy (ACLA).
- And, our own Cynthia Agyeman, Ph.D., became a new U.S. citizen just in time to celebrate Independence Day at the beginning of the month! We are so excited for her and her family.
