Ohio lawmakers discuss overhauling property tax system in light of massive value hike 

Local government officials last week told state lawmakers that restoring slashed state funding and reining in tax abatements would go a long way in addressing concerns about tax increases fueled by historic property value increases. 

ODT: Severance tax filing deadline reminder 

The Ohio Department of Taxation is reminding all severance tax practitioners and taxpayers that the first quarter 2024 severance tax return and payment are due May 15, 2024. Severance tax returns and payments are required to be submitted electronically via the Ohio Business Gateway.
