Ohio voters will have a chance to make their voices heard on the proposed constitutional amendment, Issue 1, on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
The amendment would raise the threshold to pass any future amendment from a simple majority (50% plus one) to 60%, require initiative backers to meet signature requirements in all 88 counties rather than the current 44-county standard, and eliminates the 10-day cure period for making up any shortfall in petition signatures.
