(COLUMBUS – May 31, 2018) – On behalf of its more than 27,000 members, The Ohio Society of CPAs has announced the endorsement of Robert Sprague for Ohio Treasurer.
“Sprague’s extensive financial education, background and public- and private-sector expertise position him perfectly to serve in the important fiduciary role of Ohio’s Treasurer of State,” said OSCPA President and CEO Scott Wiley, CAE.
OSCPA’s 19-member Statewide Endorsement Screening Committee and 15-member Executive Board separately evaluated the candidates before unanimously endorsing Sprague.
“As a business consultant for Ernst & Young, Sprague helped clients across the globe find efficiencies and improve their internal processes,” Wiley said. “As the City of Findlay’s treasurer and auditor, he learned firsthand about local government operations and how to improve government credit ratings and lower debt service costs. And as a state legislator, Sprague worked closely with OSCPA to drive important government efficiencies that saved taxpayer dollars and increased transparency.”
OSCPA is confident Sprague will hit the ground running to achieve his goals of ensuring Ohio’s investment operations are sound, transparent and deliver positive results for Ohioans.
