Davidson tapped for prestigious House committee

The Republican Steering Committee this week selected Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Troy, to serve on the powerful House Financial Services Committee.

The Troy congressman, who last year won a special election to replace former House Speaker John Boehner, was just elected to his first full term in Congress.

The House Financial Services Committee has jurisdiction over the banking system, monetary policy, housing, insurance, and securities and exchanges. Ohio now has three lawmakers on the panel, as Davidson will join Reps. Joyce Beatty, D-Jefferson Township, and Steve Stivers, R-Upper Arlington.

OSCPA works closely with this committee, as well as the House Ways & Means Committee, which has Ohio members in Reps Jim Renacci, CPA, R-Wadsworth; and Pat Tiberi, R-Galena, who also chairs the Subcommittee on Health.
