“Although there is no standardized definition, neurodiversity generally refers to the full range of natural variations in human brain function,” writes Roxanne Bellamy of the Diversity Movement in the May/June issue of CPA Voice. “Especially around learning, thinking or processing information.”
Bellamy says autism is one of the more common examples of neurodiversity. A workplace environment that emphasizes neurodiversity as an asset to the team can help employees feel safe disclosing their conditions or diagnoses and requesting any accommodations they need.
