CPA Voice: Advocacy wins added up in 2021

Written on Nov 24, 2021
The OSCPA advocacy team has seen success on numerous fronts for the profession in 2021.

In the latest issue of CPA Voice, we take a look back at achievements related to the CPA exam, municipal income tax, sales and use tax, and pass-through entities.

Two great example are Senate Bill 247 – which provides clarifying guidance to the Ohio Department of Taxation and taxpayers that the BID applies to the gains from the sale of an ownership interest in a business – and Senate Bill 246 – which is Ohio’s attempt to enact legislation clarifying that taxes paid by a pass-through entity do not count toward an owner’s $10,000 cap limitation on the state and local tax deduction for federal income tax purposes.

Be sure to check out the November/December issue of CPA Voice where we dive into these issues in depth.

Also, join us Dec. 3 to learn the power of participation! Join us from 9 a.m. to noon for Advocacy in Action, an engaging, interactive, virtual look at the inner workings of the legislative process. Hear insights from Ohio lawmakers and peers. Learn more!
