In his new role, Johnson oversees Deloitte’s strategic and operational activities in Central Ohio, including talent development, client relationships and Deloitte’s involvement with key community and civic initiatives. Additionally, he will continue to counsel Deloitte’s clients in the real estate sector through his role as a partner with Deloitte Tax LLP.

“As a life-long resident of Central Ohio who started with Deloitte, I am thrilled to take on the role of Columbus managing partner,” Johnson said. “This role combines my love for the community with my commitment to the organization. I look forward to building on John’s outstanding legacy in leading Deloitte to be the dynamic leader our community needs during these times.”

Johnson has 30 years of experience in tax planning, consulting and compliance with a focus on public and private real estate companies and owners. In addition to his client service roles, Johnson is a lifetime trustee for the Boys and Girls Club of Columbus and has served on the board of Easter Seals. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he also has a master’s degree in taxation from Capital Law School.

“Mark brings both an intimate knowledge of Deloitte and the marketplace to the role,” McEwan said. “I am excited for this transition and the impact Mark and our Columbus team will make in the years ahead.  Both our clients and our people will benefit from his authentic and inclusive approach to leadership in addition to his deep insights on business and regulatory trends and how they relate to Central Ohio.”
