AARP asks OSCPA members for help

Written on Oct 22, 2020

AARP has asked for OSCPA member assistance with its AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program.

Tax-Aide volunteers provide a calm and confident hand to mostly aging people who are often fearful of dealing with the government and worried that they might make a mistake on their taxes. As an accountant, you’re uniquely qualified to help.

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program provides tax preparation services at more than 5,000 locations across the country. The volunteers who help are most often retirees themselves and find the work to be fun and rewarding. But students also help, and they gain valuable real-life tax preparation experience while doing a community service.

To volunteer, sign up at the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide website. If you have questions or would like more information, email OSCPA Tax Policy Director Greg Saul, Esq., CAE
