IRS releases updates for special enrollment exam

Written on Mar 09, 2020

The IRS has announced there will be three major changes when the next special enrollment exam testing window begins on May 1:

  1. The exam will include one scheduled 15-minute break. See Important Changes to the Break Policy.

  1. In addition to a pass/fail message received immediately at the test center, test results will also be emailed to candidates and available to access and print online.

  1. The number of locations and dates available for foreign testing will be reduced to meet a security requirement to have U.S. citizens working in international testing centers. See Availability/Scheduling FAQ 3 for details. (Testing at U.S. locations is unchanged and will continue to be available at over 300 test centers.)
