The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and its members, in partnership with the Ohio Small Business Development Centers, is administering contract consulting to perform cash flow analyses and business advising to small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program targets organizations that have experienced a decrease in gross receipts, customers, closures, reduced operations, supply chain disruptions, staffing challenges and other hardships.

The one-time grant is available through the Ohio SBDC with funds from the federal CARES Act and is to be expended over the period from the date of awarding through Sept. 30, 2022. OSCPA cultivated a list of accounting firms to provide the needed work. Under the plan, the firms perform cash flow analyses or advise on small business loans and forgiveness, with the services funded by the grant.

The program is just one example of the critical role Certified Public Accountants are playing in supporting Ohio businesses during the pandemic, said OSCPA President CEO Scott Wiley, CAE.

“Our members are out there every day helping business leaders make smart decisions and serving as their most trusted advisers,” Wiley said. “The ability to offer business advising from highly qualified CPAs through the Ohio Small Business Development Centers gives them another potent tool to use to support their efforts and keep our state’s economy moving.”

Firms interested in being included on this list should send a name and contact information for a contact individual with your firm to Christina Fuduric, OSCPA Director, Business Excellence, at cfuduric@ohiocpa.com. The firm should have experience with this type of work, capacity to conduct the work during this timeframe, the ability to serve clients virtually, and the CPA and CPA firm’s registration should be in good standing with the Accountancy Board of Ohio. The Ohio Society will contact you regarding an application process. If you have any initial questions, contact Laura Hay at Lhay@ohiocpa.com.
