CPA of Ohio: Evangeline Agum

by Jessica Salerno | Sep 21, 2021
Evangeline Agum is a senior accounting student at Kent State University.

Where did you grow up?

I actually I grew up in Uganda. So I'm Ugandan by nationality. I lived there pretty much all my life until about three years ago when I came here for college. I also lived about two years in India while I was growing up. Growing up there was definitely different in terms of culture. But it was really nice. It's very close knit and you end up knowing a lot of people in Uganda, because it's actually pretty small. It's smaller than the state of Ohio.

If you weren't in accounting, what do you think you would be doing instead?

I feel like I would do something like event planning or wedding planning. Because I love planning out stuff. I'm the girl everyone knows for being with her planner 24/7.  Or I would work in higher ed, or administration for a university, just because I have enjoyed my college experience so much because of my student jobs, which most of it is administrative, but it's also student life and organizing events for campus.
