CMS pausing Medicaid redeterminations in states noncompliant with renewal requirements 
The CMS is cracking down on states that aren’t complying with federal requirements during Medicaid redeterminations, in a bid to curb procedural disenrollments. 

Costs rise, quality falls after nursing home acquisitions: review 
Public health and epidemiology researchers reviewed dozens of studies on private equity ownership and found that an escalation in PE takeovers across health care settings has led to higher costs for patients and payers. Several studies also found more ensuing harmful health outcome impacts than beneficial ones. 

36% of hospitals complying with price transparency rule, survey finds 
A PatientRightsAdvocate.org report published July 20 found that only 721 (36%) of the 2,000 hospitals examined were fully complying with the price transparency rule, up slightly from 24.5% compliance in February. 

UPS strike would derail medical supply chain, HIDA says 
The Aug. 1 strike threatened by 340,000 United Parcel Services workers would quickly and adversely affect medical supply chains, the Health Industry Distributors Association is warning.
