A San Francisco startup is among a handful of companies hoping to use artificial intelligence chatbots to offer services to doctors. These firms maintain that their programs could dramatically reduce the paperwork burden physicians face in their daily lives, and dramatically improve the patient-doctor relationship.

“We’re not going after anything that’s kind of cool that takes a couple of years to get to the bottom line. This is about immediate returns,” an Advocate Health executive said.
