Calling it "the best of our bad options," a panel of three federal judges ruled 2-1 that Ohio must hold its legislative primary Aug. 2 using the third set of maps produced by the Ohio Redistricting Commission but invalidated by the Ohio Supreme Court, but for this year's elections only. The judges had forecast this decision in an earlier ruling, saying they would order the use of the third map by this Saturday, May 28, should state leaders fail to break the logjam.
