Recently, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted joined The Ohio Society of CPAs Town Hall to discuss innovation in Ohio, including the exciting news about Intel, slated to locate on 3,500 acres in Licking County. Husted said it will bring in 3,000 direct jobs, plus tens of thousands more indirect jobs. Intel has pledged to spend $100 million to develop talent for the new facility and invest more than $20 billion in the construction of two new leading-edge chip factories, which is the largest economic event in Ohio history.
A huge manufacturing facility like Intel will require many suppliers to make it successful, opening the door for existing Ohio businesses and newcomers to our state to grow their own enterprises. To make it easier for those interested, Intel has made available a site for Ohio businesses interested in becoming a supplier or service provider to the Intel chip factory.
The immediate need is for construction-related services, but there are several categories for future non-construction supplier services as well. The site can be accessed here and offers categories covering factory material, logistics, HR services and more.
