Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced the latest application period for the TechCred program will run March 1-31 and that further application periods will be bimonthly in May, July, September and November. This is the 13th round for the program, which launched in October 2019 and has led to approvals for 1,615 employers so far.
A release from Husted’s office added that TechCred has led to 32,269 tech-focused credentials, with results of the January round to be announced in coming weeks. Husted said the program helps businesses become more competitive and is now “part of the job training fabric of Ohio.”
“As a result, we want to help Ohio’s job creators plan ahead, so we are announcing an official application schedule for the rest of 2022 that will help businesses maximize TechCred and better compete in today’s tech-infused economy,” Husted continued.
Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik also said that it helps businesses fill their tech needs amid a growing state economy.
The full list of application periods includes May 2-31, July 1-29, Sept. 1-30 and Nov. 1-30.
