- Rep. Stephanie Howse was sworn into Cleveland City Council this week – the Ohio House Democrat Caucus is charged with identifying a candidate to complete her term.

Various gubernatorial candidates’ running mates have been named recently:
- Former Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley named Sen. Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo), a veteran of the General Assembly for more than 20 years.
- Former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley announced her selection of Cuyahoga County Councilwoman Cheryl Stephens, a former mayor of Cleveland Heights.
- Republican Joe Blystone announced U.S. Marine Jeremiah Workman as his running mate. Workman is an Iraq War veteran.
