  • State Rep. Jeff Crossman, D-Parma, has announced a bid to be Ohio’s next attorney general. Crossman is an attorney who served on the Parma City Council before running for the Ohio House. He’s represented the 15th District in Northeast Ohio since 2019. 

  • State Rep. Lisa Sobecki, D-Toledo, announced she intends to run for a seat on the Lucas County Board of Commissioners. She would challenge incumbent Commissioner Gary Byers, also a Democrat, who is serving his first term and whose seat comes up for election in 2022. 

  • Matt King recently launched his campaign for the 46th Ohio House District, which in 2022 will include the cities of Middletown and Monroe and the townships of Liberty, Lemon, St. Clair, and Madison in Butler County. King is the director of marketing and automation for Hightowers Petroleum Company in Middletown, as well as president and founder of Drone Camp, a drone and aviation education company.  

  • Three Republicans have announced they are running for the party nomination for the Ohio House's 67th District. The candidates include Brunswick Mayor Ron Falconi, Brunswick High School student Dakota Sawyer, and Loudonville City Council member Matt Young. The redrawn district includes all of Ashland County and the western portion of Medina County.
