Politicos on the Move: Oct. 3, 2021

Written on Oct 1, 2021

House Dems selected Latyna Humphrey (D-Columbus) from a crowded slate of 26th District candidates to replace former State Rep. Erica Crawley. She previously worked as outreach coordinator for the Franklin County Auditor’s Office and currently serves as a bailiff at the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, as well as president of the Central Ohio Black Democrats.

Three months after his appointment in late June, State Rep. Kevin Miller (R-Newark) of the 72nd District has finally landed some House committee assignments: he now serves on the Transportation and Public Safety Committee and Infrastructure and Rural Development Committee. Miller indicated a third committee assignment is likely in the works as well. Rep. Miller was selected from 19 candidates to replace deposed former House Speaker Larry Householder and had a long career with the Ohio State Highway Patrol prior to his House service.
