OSU to raise minimum wage to $15 per hour in 2020
The Ohio State University President Michael Drake has announced that 3,800 university employees making less than $15 per hour will receive raises to that amount in 2020, while an additional 1,000 employees already making $15 per hour will receive a $1 per hour raise to $16 per hour.

ODT updates Commercial Activity Tax
The Ohio Department of Taxation has issued an information release providing the effective excise tax rates for the commercial activity tax. The release includes the new tax on vapor products effective Oct. 1, 2019.

In Ohio, purchasing power ranked No. 7 in the country
A new report by the Tax Foundation calculated and ranked the relative value of $100 in each state. Ohio’s purchasing power ranked seventh in the country with the relative value of $100 totaling $112.49—an increase from last year’s No. 8 rank and relative value of $111.98.
