Nick Braydich, a senior accounting major at Ohio Wesleyan University and OSCPA student member, was inspired to enter the competition to build his personal brand.

“It’s a great way to get my name out there and show who I am,” he said.

Public voting for the competition began Nov. 1 and Braydich is one of the top 25 finalists. These votes and a panel of judges will determine the five video winners.

Braydich’s video consists of five scenes where he illustrates three reasons why he wants to become a CPA. The first scene after the introduction shows Braydich lifting weights at the gym saying that becoming a CPA “will strengthen my personal brand and elevate me professionally.”

For his second reason, Braydich includes a scene of himself in a classroom with his textbooks scattered to emphasize the work he has put into his future. And his third reason for wanting to become a CPA is the endless opportunities it presents.

Braydich said submitting the video was an exciting experience for him and he is thankful for the support of his professor, Justin Breidenbach, CPA.

“It’s pretty exciting, especially coming from a smaller school and working with Professor Breidenbach. He was really passionate about this,” Braydich said, “so I was happy to make him proud, and I’m excited to see where we go from here.”

Braydich is also a member of the accounting fellows’ program, the golf team and Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He has held multiple internships with Athlete Network, Northern Ohio PGA and PwC. After graduation, Braydich will return to PwC as an associate in the audit department.

Voting for the competition is available through Nov. 15. Click here to vote for Nick and view the video in full.
