The Fall 2019 Advance series kicked off last week in Cleveland with nearly 300 in attendance and more than 100 who stuck around afterward to enjoy a networking social.

Advance provides an overview of current issues and updates affecting the profession, including an economic forecast, new technology, changing regulations, recruiting best practices and more.

Not only is Advance an update you can’t get anywhere else, it also provides members with four hours of complimentary CPE.

Scott Wiley, CAE, OSCPA president and CEO, as well as Advance presenter, said the inaugural presentation was a success.

“We had a lot of conversation about the changes and transformation happening in the profession,” he said, “as well as what we see happening in the legal, regulatory and legislative landscape and just how important it is for OSCPA to be the voice of the profession and help to advance the state of business.”

Members said they love attending this series because of the wide array of information it provides.

“I am the only professional on my staff and work for a closely-held family business,” said a Cleveland attendee. “Advance lets me get out and get a broader view of what is happening in the ‘CPA World’ and while not everything applies directly to me, it is all enlightening. I enjoy the sessions greatly.”

The networking event afterward (also happening after the upcoming Nov. 12 Cincinnati presentation) gave members a chance to talk with their peers and OSCPA staff.

If you haven’t attended yet, there are still spots available for presentations in Dayton and Cincinnati, as well as three web rebroadcasts. Register here!

I  look forward to attending the program every year. The topics are relevant, and Scott Wiley does a great job as moderator!
