An OSCPA partnership with AICPA now offers our members and other customers dozens of niche webcasts through the Society’s MyOSCPA learning platform.

Tiffany Crosby, CPA, OSCPA Director of Learning, said the arrangement allows members to still get learning the way they’re used to while providing a wide variety of national content OSCPA couldn’t provide on its own.

“I think one of the beauties of this relationship is that there is some content that is more niche or more specialized, where we may not be able to hold it as a public course, because not enough people will register, but through this relationship, we're able to offer those,” Crosby said.

She said the webcasts present business professionals not only a chance to earn CPE, but also ways to perform better in their career.

“This is really about what learning you need to be competent and continue to do your job with excellence and become more strategic in the role you play with your company — be it a firm, an organization or industry,” she said.

“So, instead of just thinking ‘I have the 40 hours I need for this year, so I’m good,’ I’d challenge you to think about the competencies you need to continue to develop, nurture or enhance.”

She said some of the webcasts, such as robotic process automation, data analytics and cybersecurity also tie into certificate programs.

The webcasts are great for individuals, but can also be useful group activities. “There can be some value in having two or three people participate in a webcast and then being able to debrief after.”

The AICPA webcasts are offered on specific days throughout the year, so if there’s one that interests you, make sure to sign up and mark it on your calendar so you don’t miss it!

“You can do almost anything as a replay, but it’s not going to qualify for CPE,” Crosby said.
