Sales and use tax filing deadline reminder
January 2019 monthly sales and use tax returns are due Feb. 25, 2019. Taxpayers are required to file sales and use tax returns electronically via the Ohio Business Gateway at gateway.ohio.gov or through TeleFile by calling 800.697.0440.

Early federal tax refunds smaller than many expect
The first week of the tax season triggered disappointing returns for some filers who had expected big tax refunds in light of the sweeping tax cuts. The IRS reported a 30.6% drop in the dollar amount of total tax refunds for the week ending Feb. 1, compared with the same week last year.
