Ohio CPAs can now get “Quick Bytes” of CPE, and earn credit in updates as short as 10 minutes.
Thanks in large measure to the efforts of OSCPA, the Accountancy Board of Ohio has approved microlearning – earning 0.2 credits of CPE for every 10 minutes of education.
“Microlearning is an excellent tool to enhance adult learning,” says Josh Goldman, Director of Professional Development for OSCPA. “And for firms that are seeking to attract, develop and retain younger staff members, microlearning is essential.”
According to eLearning Industry, an online community of e-Learning professionals, the average attention span is 90 seconds.
“Breaking big topics into small chunks is beneficial to learning,” says Goldman. “Our Quick Bytes programs offer busy professionals a way to get specific information quickly and it reinforces learning obtained in more traditional ways, such as conferences, seminars and webcasts.” Taking advantange of this opportunity for members, OSCPA has prepared a slate of programming in this new format. Branded as Quick Bytes, these On-Demand videos offer short updates on need-to-know topics.
Some of the programs are also bundled together. For example, OSCPA has a series of FASB updates available in the new format. Pick and choose the updates that matter to you, or buy the complete bundle.
