Ohio’s minimum wage going up Jan. 1

On Jan. 1 Ohioans making minimum wage will get a pay raise.

Workers making the state minimum wage of $8.15 an hour will now receive $8.30 an hour. The pay for tipped employees will increase from $4.08 to $4.15 an hour.

The Ohio Department of Commerce announced the increase on Sept. 29.

The current federal minimum wage is $7.25.

The 15-cent raise is the largest in Ohio since January 2015.
